Local War Hero Remembered

 

William James Birse was only 19 years of age when he died in the great war but his name is absent from the local memorial in Leochel-Cushnie. June Cutter contacted the church website to try and investigate why this was the case and set about a long journey that would eventually lead to a new being added - that of her great uncle, William James Birse.

Treasure Hunt 26th June 2011

 

A walking treasure hunt is organised for Sunday the 26th June. The hunt will be in and around the Tough area and will take approximately 1 hours to complete.

 

On return to the church there will be a strawberry tea in the sun...weather permitting!

 

Cost of the treasure hunt and tea will be £5 or just £2 for the tea and sunshine.

 

 

 

Family BBQ- 21st August 2011

 

The annual Cushnie & Tough BBQ was held at the village hall after the joint service at Cushnie church.

Quiz Night 28th October 2011

 

A quiz night at Cushnie Hall with tea and biscuits and raffles. £5 per person with teams of 4 per table. 

 

 

Margaret Glass Ordained as Elder

 

The church is delighted to announce that Margaret Glass has been elected and ordained as an elder of our church.

 

The service was held on the 21st Aug 2011 as part of a joint Cushnie & Tough service.
